URGENT CLOSING INFORMATION
5:20 PM
*URGENT UPDATE: Detailed information to all parents to follow via email*
Joyful Noise is committed to doing our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Following recommendations from the CDC and state and local health officials, we have made the difficult decision to close the center beginning Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, April 10. We know what a hardship this will be for many of our families and staff, but please know that this decision was not made lightly. The health and safety of all in our Joyful Noise family is what remains most important through this incredibly difficult time. We are hopeful that we will be able to reopen Monday, April 13, and are praying for each and every one of you! Please check your email for important information from Ms. Sally. Thank you so much for your understanding ❤️

A Message From Joyful Noise Childcare
3:28 PM
COVID-19 Update
Dear Joyful Noise family and friends,
As COVID-19 infections become more widespread, we wanted to share with everyone steps we are taking to ensure the safety and health of our facility, students, their families and our staff.
On Monday, our JN Advisory Committee will be meeting to go over our plan of action should there be a time in the future we need to close the center due to illness, in particular the COVID-19 outbreak. We will share this information on Tuesday to confirm any tentative plan of action that will be put in place if this begins to affect us.
We have been in contact with LARA, the Ottawa County Health Department, and North Ottawa Community Hospital. We are reassured that these businesses have been planning and training for what may come, and are following their recommendations.
In the meantime, we have ramped up our cleaning efforts of our center, including surfaces that everyone comes into contact with daily. We have ordered extra supplies needed to stay open in case these items are in short supply in the coming weeks. Our staff is reinforcing frequent handwashing throughout the classrooms, reminding children to cough and sneeze into their elbow, and continuing their diligence with toy and equipment sanitizing.
At this time, our infant room is closed to anyone other than primary caregiving teachers and infants. We want to protect our youngest children from any unnecessary exposure to germs, being this has been a particularly challenging season for illness.
If you or your child(ren) become ill, please stay home until fully recovered. We are always willing to bring a child out to the parking lot if you or another child is ill.
*Our staff will no longer be attending our annual MiAEYC conference in Grand Rapids on March 26-27. Joyful Noise is planning to be open both days.
While all Michigan K-12 schools begin closures Monday, March 16-April 6, Joyful Noise plans to remain open at this time. We will communicate any new information as it becomes available and will send out details after our JN Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, 3/16.
Parents, please be sure to keep us informed of any changes in your work schedules or plans for childcare. All attendance information should be directed to the office email. Also, be thinking of alternate childcare arrangements in the event JN gets closed by the State of Michigan for any period of time. We are hoping this won't happen, but want to be prepared if it does. We surely hope we will be able to remain open, so parents and our teachers can work.
Many of our older kids are hearing adults talk, and seeing the news. Here is a link about talking with children: https://www.cdc.gov/…/schools-ch…/talking-with-children.html

For the Love of Literacy "Pizza+Books" Event Has Been Canceled
3:08 PM
After careful consideration, and with following the state recommendations for large group events during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel this year's For the Love of Literacy "Pizza+Books" Giveaway. We have been actively monitoring the situation, and the health and safety of the attendees and volunteers is our top priority. We are hoping to reschedule the event in the coming months. If not, we will see you all next March! Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time! Stay healthy!
