Join Us for Gingerbread House Making!

On Wednesday, December 13th Joyful Noise will host our Annual “gingerbread” (graham cracker) house making night!

Come join us from 6:15-8:00 to make your Christmas centerpiece!

You will need to bring any cardboard carton (ie. milk, orange juice carton) of any size. We will supply the frosting, candies, pretzels and a surface to mount everything on that you can take home.

Candy donations are not necessary but much appreciated--any colorful items you can think of are great!

Everything will be set up in the Recreation Room.

Joyful Noise Celebrates 20 Years of Service!

Joyful Noise four-year-olds build a tower with 20 blocks to represent the center’s service milestone!

Joyful Noise is Celebrating our 20^th Year of Service!

The Oxford Dictionary defines the word “score” as twenty years. Said to have originated from a shepherd counting sheep—one through twenty—a notch would be made in shepherd' stick so that a shepherd could safely lead the flock.

As Joyful Noise enters its twentieth year of service, that term couldn’t be more appropriate. The center has been happy to shepherd little lambs from the earliest moments of their lives through the days of preschool wonderment and joy. From learning to crawl to writing letters, the preschool and daycare has fostered growth in young students and enjoyed watching them grow while they create wonderful bonds with their fellow classmates.

Joyful Noise’s impact isn’t just limited to the students who come and go each day in our building; our outreach to community youth through events and service benefits many young children who might never attend our program. Members of the community smile when they see us coming down the sidewalk with our knotted ropes each day and our childcare center is well-known throughout the area as a hub for laughter, early childhood support, and lifelong family memories.

We would like to thank all of our parents, First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven for their continued support, and, of course, the amazing children that make our rewarding job possible and so very necessary. We look forward to twenty more years of leading our little lambs to successful learning and joyful play.

The Annual Joyful Noise Teusink's Pony Farm Potluck!

Who:  For Joyful Noise families, relatives, alumni, staff and the FPGH congregation!

What:  The 2017 Joyful Noise Teusink's Pony Farm Potluck

Where:  Teusink's Pony Farm- 1468 W. 32nd St. Holland, MI

When: Friday, June 2 from 6:00 - 8:30! Potluck to begin at 6:00, followed by activities and fellowship at 6:30!

Joyful Noise will provide hot dogs for roasting and a beverage. Bring a dish to pass, as well and your own table settings and enjoy the meal, plus hay rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, marshmallow roasting and lots of pony farm fun! 

Sign up in the main entrance of Joyful Noise (bulletin board located near the entry doors). Cost is $5.00/person ages 2 and up (children under 2 are FREE). See Ms. Sue in the Joyful Noise office for admission payment prior to the event (payment due the morning of the event 6/2).

What a Night! The 2017 Joyful Noise Carnival!

The 2017 Joyful Noise Carnival

Our annual carnival night was a smashing success! From the cotton candy to the games, the children and their families had an enjoyable night, filled with laughter and cheer! Thank you to our super staff for working so hard to make this event possible! We raised nearly $800 from our raffle and silent auction; this money will be used to fund future Joyful Noise events, like next year's carnival, our annual Easter egg coloring, and the upcoming Tuesink's Pony Farm Potluck. A HUGE shout-out to "Firefighter Mike" for taking time out of his busy schedule to be a part of the raffle and supporting Joyful Noise (the children adore you!)!

The Annual Joyful Noise Carnival!

 Friday, April 28 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come One, Come All to the 2017 Joyful Noise Carnival!

Our annual Joyful Noise carnival will take place on Friday, April 28, from 6:30 - 8:00. All over the center, we'll be hosting exciting games, as well as an art walk, face-painting, snacks and prizes in the Recreation Room, and a raffle drawing! Joyful Noise hosts this free annual event for families and the community as a way to share our appreciation and to celebrate April's "The Month of the Young Child". It is always a great night of fun and fellowship!

This year's raffle (with proceeds going to fund future events), is offering up two awesome prizes:  a "Family Fun" basket, filled with goodies and family activities donated by local businesses, OR a fire truck ride for 3 during this summer's Coast Guard Kid's Parade. Raffle tickets are on sale now through the night of the carnival! Tickets are $2.00 each, or 3 tickets/$5.00. Stop by the Joyful Noise office to purchase yours today! You don't need to be present to win.

Annual Joyful Noise Easter Egg Coloring

The 2017 Joyful Noise Annual Easter Egg Coloring is Almost Here!

When:  Wednesday, April 12th from 6:15 - 7:30

Where:  Joyful Noise Recreation Room

What to Bring:  Your OWN hard-boiled eggs for coloring (as many as you wish). We will provide assorted colors of dye, small baskets in which to place the eggs, Easter grass, and various decorations!

The Third Annual "Pizza+Books" C-Fund Literacy Event is Almost Here!

For the third year in a row, Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s C-Fund is giving away hundreds of brand new books at the “Pizza Plus Books” event on Wednesday, March 15^th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in program rooms A and B at Loutit District Library in Grand Haven. 

WHEN: Wednesday, March 15th at 4:30-6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Loutit District Library, Program rooms A&B in Grand Haven, Michigan

WHO: Children from infancy to 8 years of age!

No registration is necessary for the book fair, which is open to the public and will offer free books to underserved children from infancy up through eight years of age. Attendees can also enjoy a free pizza dinner from Domino’s as well as access to other early childhood resources!

“One of the best parts of my year is watching the children come through the doors when we open the event,” said third-time event volunteer and early childhood teacher, Kelly Van Hook. “Seeing the brightness in the children’s faces and watching them try and decide between all of the great choices for books means so much to me.”

The National Institute for Early Education Research reaffirmed the importance of early childhood literacy with a study in 2016 linking the availability of reading materials and parent involvement with a successful reading outcome for children entering kindergarten and beyond. Providing access to age-appropriate books and nurturing parent and child reading relationships is a cornerstone of the Joyful Noise C-Fund’s Love of Literacy program mission. 

The C-Fund seeks to connect young children and families with not only high-quality books but also early childhood resources to support lifelong learning.
