You can purchase a fraser fir wreath, garland, swag or poinsettia from the order forms below, which must be returned by November 16th. Please make checks payable to Joyful Noise Childcare!

Also see your cubby for a coupon to purchase a fraser or spruce tree on site at KP Tree & Nursery--any size tree for $45! Each tree purchase is $10 earned for Joyful Noise's fundraising efforts! See more details about trees below.

It's time for our annual open houses and classroom transitions!

Our students (if they haven't moved already) are transitioning to the next age group. Teachers will hold individual open houses for important classroom information! Don't miss this opportunity to get the "lowdown" on your child's next year at Joyful Noise, along with important handouts and other great info!

TWO YEAR OLD ROOM– Tues. Aug 23 at 5:15, parents meet in lounge and pick up after teacher presentation.

THREE YEAR OLD ROOM– Mon. Aug 22 at 5:15, parents meet in lounge after dropping children off in their classrooms and pick up after teacher presentation.

FOUR YEAR OLD ROOM: – Thurs. Aug 18 at 5:30, parents meet in lounge after dropping children off in their classrooms and pick up after teacher presentation.

Joyful Noise and Creative Curriculum

In the 2015/2016 school year, thanks to $3000 of funding from the Joyful Noise C-Fund, Joyful Noise Christian Childcare was able to purchase and implement a standardized curriculum through Teaching Strategies called “Creative Curriculum.” This award-winning program is based on 38 learning objectives for early childhood development and education and is supported by current research and best practice. These objectives support evidence indicating future academic success in school.

The curriculum, which begins in infancy and carries through to kindergarten preparedness, is implemented in each classroom throughout the day in a variety of ways and learning areas.

Introducing a standardized curriculum into our program at Joyful Noise Christian Childcare was a step in not only supporting the best and most current teaching methods but also recognizing contemporary standards in excellence throughout the state of Michigan for licensed child care centers.

Learning objectives and lesson plans can be viewed in classroom monthly calendars by visiting the "Classrooms" tab above and viewing classroom blogs, which have additional resource links in the navigation headers (calendars, teacher biographies, and more.)

This year, our lead teachers will attend a 2nd Creative Curriculum conference in Holland from Great Start Readiness to explore more teaching techniques and proper utilization of the program's lesson plans.

Joyful Noise Childcare toddlers implement Language and Literacy lesson “LL39” by creating a texture board with materials of different textures (paper, fabric, wood, pom-poms) and glue.

Though the lesson is open-ended and allows for exploration, children are prompted to describe their experience and use simple language to increase their understanding.

Could you put a price on the smiles and cheers of twenty children?

The Joyful Noise C-Fund can!

For just $100 a week, the Joyful Noise C-Fund will be bringing Gift of Music classes and Nutrition Expedition lesson plans to the children of Stepping Stones Daycare for homeless and transient children in Holland, Michigan. The program, which lasts three consecutive weeks in August, will deliver the following activities and materials to twenty Stepping Stones students:

• A free tambourine plus care and activity materials for each child
• 30-45 weekly minutes of age-appropriate, engaging early childhood music instruction
• Nutrition Expedition learning materials which include science projects, books and even fresh vegetables and fruits to promote the learning of healthy eating habits and physical education

The Grand Haven Coast Guard Kid's Parade is Coming!

Come join us Saturday, July 30th at 9:30 a.m. for the fun at the U.S. Coast Guard's Kid's Parade!

Joyful Noise will be preparing for the parade theme, "Soaring Aviators" in the parking lot of First Presbyterian Church. Decorate your bikes and strollers with aviation themed items at home and meet us there! Joyful Noise will also have some backup streamers and flags.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. in the county parking lot across the street.

We will also be providing participants with candy to toss to the crowd on behalf of Joyful Noise. Candy donations are appreciated and will be collected up to the day before the event in the JN office.

After the parade, we will enjoy refreshments provided by JN on the corner of 5th and Franklin.
